The Science of Bubble-ology

Today we went to a program at our library that showed the kids all about the science of bubbles. This half of a bubble is called a hemisphere.

Emma and the girls' friend, McKenzie watch the teacher do all kinds of bubble tricks.

Like putting a hemisphere, inside a hemisphere, inside a hemisphere.

And making a square bubble by putting 6 bubbles together, then putting a bubble in the center of those 6.

The teacher described to the kids why his "tricks" worked, taught them how to make homemade bubble solution, and showed them how to use their hands to form bubbles.

They had some of the coolest bubble wands I have seen! Alyssa chose a unicorn, and each wand shape was cooler than the next. I guess many stores like Toys R Us have these, but they sell out quick so you have to be in the store at the right time to find them.

Emma with the flower wand sends her bubbles up high.

Rebekah has a turn with the flower.

Alyssa making a big rainbow motion to get the best bubbles.

The wind picked up and she got a face full of bubbles.

Rebekah loved the bubble solution. We were on the front sidewalk of the library and she was using the bubbles to wash the light posts, the sidewalk, and my legs :)

After the library, we went to Mc Donalds to get ice cream. Ka'iulani and Kamele were being silly, pretending to put ice cream on their noses.
