Princess Protection and Pirate Ships

After a busy day of swimming and golfing, the girls relaxed by watching the premier of the disney channel movie, Princess Protection Program. It was a really cute movie, and we had been looking forward to it for some time now! For as sleepy as they look here, once the movie was over, it was back to play time. They filled up Emma's Barbie pool (which Halle gave her) and as they walked across the living room, each carrying a wobbly side of the pool, it looked like an accident waiting to happen. But, they safely made it to the beach towel area I set up for them and had a fun Barbie Beach Party.

Before leaving to go home today, Dave took Emma and Halle to Lowe's to build Pirate Ships. They worked so hard on them and they came out very cute!!

Showing their cool Pirate Ships.

Oh man, Cristian would have loved to build a pirate ship. I know our Lowe's does work shops like this for kids, I'll have to look into it!! Great work girls! And looks like a fun sleep over. Does Rebekah actually sit and watch entire movies?

You should definately take Cristian to Lowes if he enjoys that kind of thing! In two Saturdays, our Lowes is making treasure chests (I heard Dave telling Alyssa this when she was disappointed that she had missed the pirate ship project). The kids get to keep a miniature set of tools they are given when they do their first project, and they also get to keep their work apron and for each project they complete, they're given a badge that can be sewn onto it. So it's lots of fun and cool for them too.

About Rebekah and movies: it depends on if the older girls are with her and how tired she is. If she's watching at night with the older girls, she might relax throughout the entire movie. Usually during the day she'll want to start a movie, but she never sits through the whole thing. The funny thing is, she never wants me to turn it off, even after she seems done watching. If they start singing, often the movie will catch her attention again, even if it's only momentary :-)

That's kind of how Ava is. She never really sits down and "watches" an entire movie. She likes to play while occasionally tuning in :-)
