John Adams was actually two days off on his "prediction." I believe the Declaration was completed on July 2nd, but Congress needed time to debate and revise it, approving the final Declaration of Independance two days later on July 4th. But, everytime I see fireworks, I think of the above quote (I actually thought it was Ben Franklin who said it and was surprised when I looked it up) and wonder if our country's Founding Fathers could have envisioned the 4th of July celebrations of today.
America was founded by people of faith who sought after God to establish a nation unlike any other. What a privilege to be an American, and how thankful we are to all the men and women who have fought for our nation!
