On our drive back from Iowa, we stopped in Galena, Illinois to see President Ulysses S. Grant's home. Emma was so proud of the can of orange soda that she is holding here. She posed with it in every photo we took on this day. We later joked that we needed to photoshop Alyssa into this pic.
Emma by a statue of Ulysses S. Grant's wife. She was the first wife of a US President to be referred to as The First Lady.
Happy to be playing in the snow on the Grant property.
Galena is a really beautiful place!

you know... that's the one bummer about living in the PNW, we haven't been a state long enough to have interesting Historical landmarks :)
