Carving Pumpkins

Last Friday we carved pumpkins. We had to work on the table in the basement because it was rainy outside.

Emma's happy face pumpkin.

Emma and Alyssa playing with the slippery seeds. Emma dove right in to the slimy pumpkin mush, A wasn't as enthusiastic about getting messy. We also got haircuts for the upcoming school pics, I'll show more pics where the new do's are a little easier to see later.

Alyssa loves her "Cat" pumpkin, but it's pretty clear I need more work with the FunKin knives. The cat is missing her whiskers! I just couldn't get that part to work.

Showing the bowl of pumpkin seeds that we sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and baked.

Rebekah's flower on her pumpkin. She told me how pretty she thought it looked, but she was so busy playing on the exercise bike the whole time we were downstairs, she didn't want to help too much. She painted a pumpkin on Monday while the big girls were at school.

Wow, Alyssa chopped her hair and it is absolutely adorable. But I must say, she looks (all of a sudden) so much older. Amazing how a hair cut can do that.

Alyssa does look much older with her hair short. She cut her hair right above chin length, to donate it in May 2008, and the exact same thing happened, it aged her instantly. She's loving the new short hair, but in retrospect it would have been a nice thing to do at the beginning of the summer. Oh well :-)
