Armed Forces Military Display on Mother's Day

After church on Mother's Day, we went to an Armed Forces Military Display. Every couple of years, the 128th Refueling Wing opens their doors to the public. You can walk through many different kinds of aircraft, and talk to the pilots and mechanics of the planes.

Emma looking at an automatic weapon.

Driving a Humvee.

Sailor Alyssa.

Signing a banner that is being sent to troops in Iraq.

Glamor Girl wave from the pilot window.

It was very windy this afternoon and it felt like the wind just pushed us along as we walked through the airfield.

Outside a huge refueler.

With Grandma all buckled up in little netted chairs. My dad mentioned how uncomfortable it would be to have to ride for any length of time buckled in like this.

Waving across the airfield to Daddy.

Pilot Kahiwalani, Ready For Take-off!

Co-pilot Kamele.

Standing in the back of a C5 Galaxy.

Outside of a Hawkwye :)

Reaching up to the huge propellar.

Playing Ring Around the Rosie in the cargo hold.

Hmmm, I wonder what this button does?

Along with two other children, Alyssa was able to go on an aerial tour of Milwaukee in this small grey plane.

Here is her plane in the air.

The flight was part of the Young Eagles program. She has a certificate signed by the pilot, who she is pictured with here. She said the flight was a little bumpy :)
