Wisconsin Dells ~ Chula Vista and The Ducks

This is what three excited little girls who have been waiting about ten months to see their grandparents looks like:

As Dave's parents traveled, their flight from Chicago to Milwaukee was delayed. Dave even grumbled at one point that he could have driven to Chicago faster to pick them up. Air travel between Chicago and Milwaukee is probably not the way to go, but it was unavoidable on this particular trip from Honolulu and they finally did appear at the end of the terminal :-)

The girls were so happy and it was wonderful to see them! We immediately got on the road to the Dells.

This year the Chula Vista resort in the Dells hosted the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Meet. We enjoyed a great weekend there, everything from the comfy rooms and awesome indoor and outdoor waterparks to how the meet was hosted right there on site where we could take a shuttle to and from the competion was perfect.

We went on The Wisconsin Ducks which are vehicles that drive on dry land, and float like boats as you approach the water part of the tour. They are sort of one of those cheesy touristy things to do, but we enjoyed it a lot!!

Family photos that include both Dave's parents and my parents are few and far between. We love each one that we have! The cute little blondie in front is sweet Isabel, a family friend who joined us for our Dells weekend. We were so thankful for the time we all had together, even if it was only a brief weekend. It's funny that regardless of where we travel across the U.S. we can often find shops, restaurants etc. that are all pursuing a bit of the Hawaiian Paradise dream. Gotta love it!!

That is so fun that everyone got to be together! How incredibly special to have both their grandparents on vacation with them.

The Hawaiian shop pic got me thinking. Have you guys checked out Ono Kine Grindz in Tosa. It's right by our house...http://www.onokinegrindzwauwatosa.com/
