Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios was a lot of fun. Alyssa loved the Hollywood Glam, and how there is a red carpet that welcomes you into the park. We saw lots of great shows that give you a behind the scenes perspective of how they make things happen in the movies, it was interesting and cool.
This was the "Backdraft" show where they demonstrated how to control fire in movies. For the movie, Backdraft, they had an entire group of actual Chicago firefighters on the scene for safety and authenticity of what they were filming. Alyssa, who doesn't like fire at all was scared by this part of the program, I even jumped myself a few times.
This was showing a car from The Fast and The Furious.
A memorable Jurassic Park Scene, I always remember the mailman from Seinfeld and the vicious attack by these spitting dinos.
By the Universal Globe.
Emma by the movie makers fountain.
Alyssa in a red phone booth.
I wanted to post the picture of Rebekah and Emma with Marilyn Monroe, but Emma insisted that this one of Aunty Kui and Uncle Tommy was better :)
Meeting Dora, surprisingly Rebekah did not want to go up to Dora.
With Shrek and Fiona. Universal was a good place for the little ones to see some shows and meet their favorite characters. They weren't tall enough for many of the most exciting rides, so I'm sure it is a place we will enjoy returning to in the future.
Sillyness in the mouth of a shark :)
Here, the girls and I are looking seriously at the Animal Actors Show. It was a really fun and interesting show about how they train animals for roles in movies. Daddy even got to be a part of the show when a huge white bird took a dollar from his fingers, then later returned it to him. We don't have any pictures of that though, because it all happened so quickly and the camera was around his neck at the time it all happened.
The cute chimpanzee showing it's funny personality. At one point the chimp makes "tooting" (we don't allow our girls to say "fart") noises with it's mouth as a way of scoffing at the animal trainer, the girls of course thought this was the funniest thing ever!
An audience member being leaped over by a dog.
A doggie being trained to "play dead."
This little monkey was cute and had quite the personality too!
Scooby Dooby Doo! The girls LOVE Scooby, he is one of the most requested books at our house. Rebekah was a little hesitant to approach him, but out of all the character we met on the trip (not including the Princesses) Scooby was the one she warmed up to the most.
Dr. Suess's Whoville.
A demonstration of a fire scene, using the shark from Jaws to jump from the water (although I don't think you can see the shark here) On this tour of the backlot, we saw Gabrielle Union on set. I know she's done lots of shows/movies, but what I remember her best for is being the first African American "friend" on the show FRIENDS (I miss that show!!).
Practicing her Movie Star Poses.
A family pic by the Universal Sign.
The girls with Grandmommy and Granddaddy.
