Art Class at the Museum

Listening to instructions from the teacher (he's on Emma's right and both girls are busy looking at his work for an example).
Alyssa's finished drawing.
Emma's finished drawing.
Rebekah making her art.
Giving the little side eyes smile while she plays with one of the art stencils.

There was a nice art teacher who does mini workshops at the museum on the weekends. He explained to the girls that many drawings can be looked at as basic shapes, and by combining these simple shapes, you can actually make really nice drawings. He was also a science teacher so this discussion went into how we see simple shapes throughout nature, it was really cool and I think the girls learned a lot!

Alyssa's Favorites at the Museum

Alyssa loved the Grocery Store and Pizzeria at the Museum. She spent tons of time organizing and stocking the shelves, and cleaning up after the children who left a mess of groceries items behind. I wish she had the same interest in organizing her toys at home :)

Emma's Favorites at the Museum

Always the climber, Emma was up for a challenge!

Rebekah's Favorites at the Museum

Coming down the stairs of the treehouse.
Playing house with a dolly.
Night, night, Baby.

Rebekah had fun in the toddler area of the museum. She was taking care of her baby, reading books, climbing a tree house, and playing in a sand and water table. All the things she loves best!

The Stylin' Stage

Posing by the mirror!
Fancy!
I loved this picture of Alyssa dancing, and Emma leaping off the stage.

The Museum also had this cute "stage" where the kids could choose some fancy attire and put on show. Lots of fun!

Choosing Healthy Meals at the Museum

Rebekah still making her choices.

At the Family Museum, they had this cute buffet line where all the children could choose which foods they would like for their pretend meal. The trick was that the tray they were given had different sized openings in it, so in order to fill up your plate, you had to choose foods from each group, and all the choices were healthy. A great lesson for our picky eater, and relentless sweet tooth princess, Emma.

Group Photos from the Quad Cities Family Museum In Bettendorf Iowa

Taking a break after exploring the museum. Thank you Ku'ulei for my pretty necklace I'm wearing here!
Daddy and the girls on the fire truck, ready for a rescue!

2 days after Christmas, we ventured to Bettendorf for the day. We visited a fun Family Museum where the girls played all day and even took an Art Class.

Sledding

Having fun on the sled.
Grandpa with his two big girls on the quad.

Daddy's turn to drive the quad. I thought he was going too fast, but Alyssa seemed to love it!
Rebekah LOVED sledding downhill (she did not so much like being pulled behind the quad like the two older girls) Before we would even get to the bottom of the hill she would be calling out, "Let's do it again!" And she was all giggles the whole way down. The day we went it was so icy that Ka'iulani and Kahiwa could just slide down the hill on their bottoms-- no sled needed :)

Thank You for Our Wonderful Gifts!

The big gift from Grandpa and Grandma was a new playhouse complete with ringing doorbell and phone. It will likely go to the backyard once the weather is nicer, but for now the girls are over the moon to play with it in Grandpa's basement. It was such a special gift, Grandpa even decorated it with Christmas lights and a bell- so awesome!!
The girls enjoying their new Wii Sing Disney Edition. The girls know several of the songs, and it is so much fun watching them sing and dance! They are of course " ROCK STARS" in Grandma and Grandpa's living room. Their other big gift from Grandma and Grandpa was their own Wii. THANK YOU THANK YOU, we will have endless fun with it!
I loved this picture of Alyssa singing and Rebekah dancing behind her. The drip on Ka'iulani's shirt is cute too.
Thank you so much to Uncle, Aunty Lisa, Kanoe, and Koa for these cute dresses. We are counting down to summertime weather already!

The girls were so blessed by all the wonderful Christmas gifts they got! I couldn't possibly post all of the pictures, but here are a few. Thank you so much to everyone! The girls LOVED everything and had such an exciting Christmas morning. And as I have promised the girls and Grandmommy, I will take them shopping soon, thank you!!

Christmas Morning

Grandma with her girls on Christmas Eve, and Rebekah looking at Emma's Twizzler probably wondering how Emma got the bigger piece :)
Rebekah did most of the work mixing together a cake mix for Jesus' Birthday.
The big girls of course, did most of the decorating on the cake. It's harder to write with M&Ms than you might think.
Grandma knew these stylish black boots would be one of Alyssa's favorite gifts, and she was right! They look so cute on her when they're not tucked under her arms :)
Emma and Rebekah taking a closer look at a Dora toy that Aunty Ku'u, Uncle Addison, Ki'inani, and Ka'anela gave. Thank you so much!

A Very Merry Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's House.

Emma Playing in the Snow

Sliding down the hill backwards :)
We are running out of places to go with the snow. This little hill is at the center of the cul de sac and is reaching up to the height of the basketball net. It's fun for the kids to slide down, but if we get too much more, the plows won't have any safe place to put it!
Emma wrestling with a sled.
Emma and her friend Jaydon playing in the snow.

Yesterday, Kahiwa was all excited to once again go play in the snow. Right away, Ka'iulani offered to stay in the house and watch the baby telling me, "Winter is my WORST season!" I know she enjoys digging tunnels and playing in the snow, I think it is more the frigid temperatures we have had for the past 5 or 6 days that she doesn't like.

Snow Pictures For Aunty

View from the front door this morning.

The big pine tree in the front yard.
View from the driveway.

Ka'eo's Aunty Christine loves snow, so this morning I took a few photos so she could see what the yard looks like under heavy snow. We still have snow falling, and may get up to 6 more inches before this round of snowfall is over. That's on top of the approximately 18 inches we already have. Many of the snow drifts are up to 4 or 5 feet tall.

The Domes

In the Tropical Dome.
Admiring the ornaments on the Show Dome Christmas tree.

The girls with one of Emma's friends, Claire, and her little sister, Katie.

The Mitchell domes are one of a few places near us where you can see flowers blooming at this time of year. They have 3 domes, an arid climate dome, a tropical dome, and a show dome that changes themes 4 times a year. At Christmas time they always have beautifully decorated trees and poinsettias.

Children's Christmas Musical

Our church does a great job getting the kids involved in the Children's Christmas Musical. Below are pictures of the girls, each one had a little role, and they were so excited to be a part of it.

The Kingdom Kids Choir Performs "Christmas Starr"

Alyssa was very excited about their "dark entrance" this year! For the first time, the children entered from the back of the balcony in the sanctuary, in the dark with flashlights glowing. She was so proud of their dramatic entrance.

Singing her solo in "I Adore You." It was the longest solo she has ever had, and we were very proud, she did a beautiful job!

This is Alyssa's third year being part of the Kingdom Kids Choir, and she looks forward to the Christmas Musical each year. They practice each week from September to December, and she enjoys it very much. This year's performance was called "Christmas Starr."
